A Moment in Time by the Shadow Bandit
I'm not a huge MPreg fan, though when it's Harry and Draco I'm much more open to it. Lately, though, I've been in the mood for MPreg, and "A Moment in Time" is one of the ones I stumbled across. In it, Harry is wrongfully accused of murder and is sent to Azkaban. After a while, Draco (who is now a Death Eater) manages to free him - for you see, both Harry and Draco had been becoming friends before Harry was accused - and takes him to America. After a while, though, Draco needs to leave or he'll blow his cover, but he and Harry have one night together before he does. He comes back after several weeks, realizing he shouldn't have left Harry, but Harry is already gone. Three years later, Harry's name is cleared and Draco, Snape and Sirius are sent to look for him. When they arrive, Harry has a different name, a rock band, and twin toddlers who look just like Harry - save for one, who has the most familiar grey eyes...good read; angsty for ages but once the angst is over it's your typical Death-Eater-and-Voldie shoot 'em up. This is also a fic where Harry is very, very powerful.

Animus by Isolde13
One of many I've read during school. I wish there were more like "Animus"; it has a compelling, original plotline (even if on the surface it might not seem so). In "Animus", Draco is a Muggle prostitute. Harry picks him up. Violence, almostalcoholic!Harry and and proposition to travel the world are just parts of one of my favorite H/D fics to date.

A Scrap of Humanity by HF
There isn't really any H/D in this, though they both so obviously want each other. There really isn't any H/D in it's sequel, "Metamorphosis of Narcisuss", anyway, and I'm not recc'ing MoN, but I AM recc'ing ASoH, because it's a really good read. Post-War; Ron calls Draco back to Hogwarts (where Harry is teaching Transfigurations) to decode some journals left by none other than our dear Severus Snape. While there, Draco is forced to confront an injured (very bad limp) Harry over why Draco didn't kill him one night during the war. I won't say it's mind-blowing H/D, but if you're not clicking that link, you obviously haven't yet realized how serious I am when I say I only rec the best.

A Thousand Beautiful Things by Duinn-Fionn
This is among my favorite H/D novel(la)s. "A Thousand Beautiful Things" is...a beautiful (heh) fanfic. It's post-war, post-Hogwarts and all that (a personal H/D fave of mine...more like a fetish, really ^_^). It also has a plot element I am particularly fond of, where Draco does something that protects/helps/whatever Harry. In this, Lucius casts a curse on Harry that will activate when Lucius dies. Well, Lucius DOES die (of course I won't say why or how), and from sunset to sunrise every night, Harry becomes...a different person, insulting and mean and biting and, well, a complete an utter bastard, who causes havoc and damage when left alone in his state. Draco comes across the countercurse, where the person wanting to break the curse must take a vow of silence for 6 months, 5 weeks, 4 days, 3 hours, 2 minutes and 1 second. Obviously, no one can know why the person has taken a vow of silence. There are rules: You may not speak. You may not write. You may touch. You may kiss...a wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL read. Gah. This should be recc'd more places. Also features Dean and Seamus, bad War memories, Draco as a spy for the Light, modelling for Dean and modelling for Muggles, and since there are Muggle models, one can't forget the flamboyently gay Muggle hairdresser :). The only thing that could make this fic better is a sequel. And, ooh, guess what? There's a sequel XD.

Beneath You by Cinnamon
It took me forever to look at this fic - the summary of "Draco finds Harry's journal with some interesting consequences" or some other such rubbish never did appeal to me. But I was desperate for a new H/D novel, so I decided, what the hell? And it ROCKED! It takes, like, forever for you to finally swing Harry and Draco around to being friends, much less lovers...they actually kinda become both at the same time, but, anyway...doesn't matter, I love this fic! It's sweet and angsty and creative and fun, and well worth a read. I particularly like the romance that develops between Draco and Harry in this one.

Black Truth by InferiorBeing
Don't you just looove Veela!Draco fics? Well, this is...pretty much the same thing. Only Draco is something called a Veriae, not a Veela, and he has the awesome wings (winged!Draco is a fun cliché, too). Naturally, Harry's his mate. Of course, Harry would resist that at first, which leads to a hasty bonding and being forced to move into the same room with each other (without even really liking each other yet!). It takes a while to get any romance, but there is some at least. Fun, interesting story - good read.

Break and Return by dracofiend
Oh my God. This fic is painful, and harsh, and so real: it is one of those emotionaly exhausting fics that can bring you to tears, but in an instant make you whole again. Such a remarkable, remarkable fic; you feel Harry's pain at Draco's, too, and your heart breaks for every moment Draco resists Harry's attempts and reconcilliation, and you eagerly click each link for the next part, hoping, hoping, hoping that in the next part, they will get back together. Beautiful piece, with the occasional shots of humor and an amazing characterization of Pansy. A must-read. And yes, it ends happily (would I rec it if it didn't?).

Change My World by charlottesometimes
Certain plot elements stay with me in fanfics; weeks after I've read one I can still recall a certain scene, line, etc., even if I don't remember what fic it was from. Both "Change My World" and its sequel, "Poses" had several such moments, and in fact, enough time had passed that I wanted to reread those particular scenes, and it took me forever to remember they were in this fic and "Poses". Anyway. "Change My World" is more your typical run-of-the-mill H/D, but that's not to say I don't like it; I do, particularly when Draco is teaching Harry Occlumency. It does have several rather original points; it has probably one of the most dramatic "I love you" scenes out there - what's more dramatic then Harry saying "I love you", Draco saying it back, and then Harry proceding to try and choke the life out of him (don't worry, it all works out ;D)? Very good read, though this is one of those occasions where I prefer the sequel. Do go read; I insist.

Cure for the Flu by IvyBlossom
'Blue fungus. Yum.' Need I say more? Well, I suppose I do. As H/D love stories goes, it's not the most romantic or spectacular, but as H/D stories in general go, it's funny and quirky and a very good read. In a fight, some of Draco's flu medecin breaks and spills into Harry's ear, making it where Harry can hear Draco's thoughts. Botched attempts to cure Harry of this only makes things worse...or better, depending on how you see it. Half empty, half full, towmaytow, tohmahtoh. Enjoy :)

Different Worlds by Professor McKitten
An AU fic where Draco spent his first five years attending Durmstang. When Lucius dies, he is moved to Hogwarts, and on his first trip to Diagon Alley, he stops at Madam Malkin's for robes - and falls almost instantly for a certain raven-haired someone. Of course, Harry has to be a prat when he hears Draco's last name (because Harry excels at being-a-pratness), but they eventually get past this little hiccup, and with a teensy bit more hormonal angsting on both parts, actually manage to get together. But wait! There's more :). Includes trips to the Manor to meet Narcissa, running away to live in Brighton for a while, and marriage. I heart this fic - pure funness. An original storyline and is well-written, to boot.

Delicate Sound of Thunder by Duinn-Fionn
Sequel to "A Thousand Beautiful Things". I prefer ATBT, because of the natural order of things where the original is always at least a teensy bit better than the sequel, or at least for some strange chemical inbalance reason originals always end up being the favorite, but it's still a helluva a lot funnier than ATBT. Oh, no, not at first; from the start there's problems in Drarryland. Harry gets his hands on an account of Draco's involvement in the fight against the Dark during the War, Draco thinks Harry wants to break up, there's a bastard Auror Without Limits running amok, and the very-gay hairdresses finds out some very interesting information about all his very odd friends :). Good read. Go read! But read ATBT first, of course ^-~.

The Depths of Winter by Cosmic
I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVEN'T RECC'D THIS BEFORE!!! Oh, my, God. I've known and loved this (and Cosmic's other well-known story, "Time Out of Place") for ages, and I thought I'd already recc'd it! Well. In "the Depths of Winter", it's four years after Hogwarts, and Harry is living a rather happy, innocuous life in the Muggle world, when, one day, he sees a motorcycle accident. The driver is none other than Draco Malfoy. Paralyzed from the waist down, Draco must learn to live with his knew handicap, and due to his inability to do much, he stays with Harry. Bombs, new Dark curses, and an unknown villian (who the villian turns out to be is very surprising - it's not the same one as in Maya's "Underwater Light", but the shock is the same) make for one of my favorite H/D novels ever.

Dragon Tamer by jennavere
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. 'Nuff said.
Okay. To be more specific: This. Fic. Is. Sooooo. Fooking. Fuh-nay. Full of bunnies named Draco Lucius Malfoy III (the II being Draco's teddy bear), being shagged silly - which leads to a sweet, cuddly Draco and a prima donna Harry - a very shallow plot, an in-the-closet Lucius, chasing the *cough* "snitch" *cough*, a Narcissa/Bill pairing, and...oh, yes. Draco singing "Like A Virgin". While holding his bunny. OH. And it has a book of sex tips, guidelines and info Hermione wrote, a pair of PJs from the HP Fan Club catalogue (bought both for Lucius and then for Voldemort), pink shirts saying "Harryz Hunnyz", aaaand, a man-bag. Several man-bags. Which Voldemort carries. Hehehehe.
The story follows one of those typical Harry-and-Draco-must-pretend-to-be-boyfriends-and-they- end-up-falling-for-each-other plots. But it's far too funny to let little things like cliché plots put you off it. Go read...because "I'm a CELEBRITY, damn it!" XDD

Dreaming in Colour by SilentAuror
This is actually a sequel, to Innuendo, but I'm only recc'ing DiC. Harry and Draco's relationship starts (in "Innuendo") by Draco having Harry purposely overhear him say something, and Draco then sends Harry a dream. The relationship developes, despite hang-ups like Draco have a very sexually abusive past thanks to Lucius (Note: one of the sexual abuse scenes, when Draco is very young, is REALLY DISTURBING. Even more so than most Lucius-abusing-Draco stuff. Teddy bear lovers beware. You have been warned). Anyway, throw into the mix that Draco's been protecting Harry, Harry's falling for him but Draco doesn't think he deserves love, and you've got quite a relationship already. "Innuendo" ends happily enough, as SilentAuror is want to do, and DiC picks up almost immediately after "Innuendo" ends. DiC basically involves dealing with Lucius, overcoming numerous insecurities (mainly on Draco's part), and just to liven things up, sharing rooms with Remus and Snape, who Harry and Draco set up ^^. Good reads, the both of them, but DiC is better. But "Innuendo" is pretty short, and it's not bad or anything (just not as good). Go read!

Finding Love by SilentAuror
Well, if you're looking for a (slightly overly sappy) good old H/D romance without too much real angst (in the relationship, that is), coupled with a solid let's-defeat-Voldie plot, some Snarry, espionage, and an overall fun, romantic, adventuresome story, then "Finding Love" is for you :) I always think it's a bit over-the-top with the "I love you"s and the supreme unlikeliness of not only Harry and Draco being gay, but Harry, Draco, Sirius, Remus, Snape AND Lucius; however, when I want a fic that I know I won't have to suffer through too much angst in the H/D relationship, I know I'll have some other 'ships besides, and I also get some cool War scenes thrown in the mix, this is the fic I turn to. Very good; one of the author's earliest. She's very popular over at Skyehawke :D

Full Spectrum by Olivia Lupin
I can't believe I forgot all about this! Okay, yeah, maybe it's a teensy bit do-or-die dramatic, but, it's a neat story, making the typical Draco-leaves-his-parents-for-the-side-of-Light storyline original and interesting; it's full of book quotes that enhance and add to the story (particularly the last two quotes used). It's got some funny bits, fascinating information on flowers, lots of romance/romantic thought and quite a bit of story where it's just Harry and Draco together (with no one else around). A tidy, well-plotted fic that makes for a nice, relaxing read. I highly recommend it.

The Goodness of Their Hearts by Taratext
Sensationally original. Malfoy is hired as Harry's bodyguard due to some obsessive stalker letters. He takes the case, and is required to live with Harry. TGTH is an awesome read, where Harry smokes joints, Draco frets too much, and the enemy really could be anywhere. There's really very little I can say that would do this fic justice; like "Animus", I wish there were more fics out there like this. A superb read, worthy of the time. I read it during school. Much better than French, Math and History, I can assure you ;-). Seriously, though - a very good fanfic. One of my fave-or-rites.

Hall of Mirrors by Ella Bane
I found the "Big Bang, Baby! Challenge" site something of a surprise, and loved the art though almost all of the stories there are not very happy fics, but "Hall of Mirrors" ended better than any (I always read the endings, so shoot me -_-), so I decided to give it a shot. Very nice, indeed. Narcissa Malfoy is missing, Draco is found hiding in the Manor after having been missing as well, and Harry's just come to stay at the Burrow; on Harry's birthday, though, Remus comes with a reticent Draco in tow. Over the days, Harry and Draco begin an interesting hate-jerk each other off relationship that slowly morphs into...something else, while Ginny's acting strange, Luna's acting odder than normal, and there's dissention between Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. To cap it off, Harry's seeing strange things in mirrors. A good fic, taking typical clichés (such as Draco staying somewhere he wouldn't normally, like the Burrow) and spicing them up. Awesome read.

Intrepid Teenage Hero by jennavere
Yet another hilarious fic by jennavere. Not quite the epics of "the Veela Engima" and "Dragon Tamer", but this is still quite a good, funny fic, that involves Harry Polyjuicing himself into Blaise Zabini so he can shag Draco into telling him about the Horcrux in Malfoy Manor. Only every time he meets for tea with Draco, Horcruxes somehow slip his mind...(though he did get as far as 'Hor', once, but Draco totally misinterpreted that). Plots, conspiracies, kindnapping Harry Potter and pretend love potions it another great fic by jennavere.

Fuck me, this is good. Draco defects. No one trusts him. Harry spends a night in bed with him and Draco doesn't even realize it. Draco and Dobby start bonding. Draco and Neville start bonding. Draco becomes covered in flour. Justin and Draco...well. Draco's so hot he turns Harry gay.........If you're not clicking the blasted link by now, you're insane. Oh - I suppose I should mention it's very, very, very loosely based on some Jane Austen...hmm. Left My Heart by Emma Grant
"Left My Heart"...at first, Draco's characterization didn't sit well with me, and I didn't care for the cold San Fransico setting. However, the story draws you in, and the truths revealed at the ending are quite a surprise, I must say! The sequel, "Surrender the Grey", is finished, though right now I don't know if it's archived anywhere than Emma's livejournal. I don't really know how to do the story justice; so I'll just summarize it (by basically paraphrasing the original summary): Draco is missing in San Fransico. Harry goes looking for him. A good read, a long read, a read well-worth...reading. *Snerk* Hey, I wouldn't rec it if it wasn't good!

The Lodger by Mad Martha
I don't see this fic recc'd enough. It's a damn good, post-war fic. Harry is depressed, Malfoy is just short of being a pariah, and when Harry puts an add in for a lodger, Malfoy turns up (not knowing he'll be lodging with Harry, hah hah). Includes a Christmas party, a Muggle children's home, and not a bad H/D relationship, considering you never get anything (you know they're getting It, you just never read about it). I've read it more than once, and since I read such long H/D and it takes hours to get through just one, re-reading is saying something. GOOD fic. Very good. Too good for me to come up with enough synonyms for.

Lumos Obscurum by Kimby
This is one of those rare-but-lovely fics where Draco meets...*ominous music*...the DURSLEYS. I know. Gotta love it ^_^. He teaches Harry some Unforgiveables, they become friends (rather against their wills), Voldemort wants Draco because he has these nifty healing abilities...all in all, a very kewl fanfic. It reminds me of "Beneath You", a bit. They both have a nice, well-developed romance in them, interwoven with a good old let's-kick-Voldie's-ass adventure. "Lumos Obscurum" has a slightly more subtle romance, though, and it doesn't really come in until the end. Still an excellent read, though XD.

Draco's turned spy, and Harry has to act like he's in love with him. Obviously, this leads to your typical pretending-to-be-boyfriends-when-they-actually-want- to-be-boyfriends situation, but despite the slight clichéd-ness of it, it's still an original read; a good read. Four stars :) Oh, yes, nearly forgot - told in alternating POV, from both Harry and Draco's perspectives.

On the Last Day of Our World by Sansa
The story is as the title says. Harry and Draco get trapped in a room in the dungeons overnight, and when they escape the next morning, they find they're the last people on earth. After some hiccups in which Draco spends a bit of time alone at the Manor while Harry spends time alone in Hogsmeade, they start the process of, well...getting to know each other better, and trying to live in a world where they're the only ones left. Includes a very powerful Harry and Draco, wacko time shifts, blood bonding, and the realization that there's a way back to their old world. Rather heavy on the angst at times, but it ends happily. Verrrry good.

On the Wings of the Storm by SilentAuror
VERY good. Better than "Finding Love", plotwise and relationshipwise, even though there's lots more angst to deal with (I like angst, just not in abundance). Draco defects, and ends up enrolled in the summer training camp that most of the newly-graduated Hogwarts students who want to work for the Order have joined. Along with the staples such as Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Dean and Ginny and that lot, there's some Hufflepuffs, Beauxbatons, Krum, the Weasley twins (who Draco gets along with smashingly)...I just found, read and finished OtWotS yesterday, and I'm very impressed. I like the whole training camp, I like how Draco and the twins get on, I like Hedwig in this (she befriends Draco, can change colors, and helps get Harry and Draco together), and I enjoy venting against the very-frustrating Powers That Be (namely people like Dumbledore and Shacklebolt), who don't seem to give a lick that Harry and Draco are in love. Very good fic, well-written and plotted and all that, with plenty of those "I love you"s that I adore so much ^^. Sweet.

Par Solum Lucana: By Words Alone by Azhure
This is a very long fic where it takes absolutely ages for Harry and Draco to get together, but it's still a fantastic read anyway. I stumbled across it at Hex Files early on in my spring break and spent most of the day reading it. In "Par Solum Lucana", both Harry and Draco - Harry who is in the UK, and Draco who is in France - come across nearly identical journals. Draco is told they're a pair, and when one person writes in the journal the person with the other can read it, and vice versa (think instant messaging). Well, you can imagine the results (particularly since both Harry and Draco keep their identities secret). Along the way they explore love, life, and flirt shamelessly. When they DO get together, though, the story's still not over...;) Good read for a quiet day when you have lots of time.

Phoenix Song by xylodemon
AWESOMENESS. Narcisaa Malfoy is killed, and Draco writes to Dumbledore, who whisks him away to Grimmauld Place, where Harry, Ron, Hermione and the rest are staying. Dumbledore insists Harry and Draco spend every hour of the day together so that Draco can teach Harry less *ahem* acceptable spells, and quickly there's a lot of attraction between H/D. They hear humming when they're near, and when they finally kiss, they hear full-blown Phoenix song (and they here a chorus of Phoenixes when they shag ;D). Turns out there's an ancient myth having to do with soulmates and such, and when wizards kiss (and do other things) with their soulmates, they hear Phoenix song. On top of a stellar romance, there's also the Ministry and Lucius and, of course, Voldemort to deal with. Great fic.

Poses by charlottesometimes
Sequel to "Change My World". I tend to like sequels because we've already gone through the angst of getting Harry and Draco together, and now we just need to keep them that way. "Poses" I like because even though there's a great deal of angst - particularly on the Snape front (because Snape has far more than a bit of a crush on Draco...) - the romance is solid, there's some interesting bonding between Ron and Draco (and, oh, isn't that always fun), and plenty of post-near-rape comforting (I am a sap for H/C). I very much like "Poses", and you will too. But read "Change My World" first, of course ^^. Oh, on a technical note - "Poses" is an improvement in writing, as well :).

After Hermione stumbles across an old, obscure protection spell, Harry and Draco are left to clean up the mess. (This is one of those fun fanfics where Harry and Draco can't be more than a few feet from each other without feeling physical pain). I wouldn't call this some soppy, sentimental, star-crossed H/D; I'd call this a good read with a good ending, and lots of good plot in between point A and point B. And I'd also say that I'm running out of ways to say "this story was great/fun/spectacular/awesome/cool", so why don't you just go read instead, mmm?

Resolution by Frances Potter
OH. ME. GEE!!! This was the first H/D novel I read, and what a way to start! This fic is mind-blowing, set during Harry and Draco's last years at Hogwarts. It's funny, and romantic, and angsty, and...gah. It's long, which is positively wonderful in my opinion; alas, it is unfinished, and it isn't updated very often (ten chapters in more than three years). It's been a little while since I gave it a thorough read, but it gave me an appreciation for H/D and, in particular, angsty and romantic H/D novels that I don't know how many other fanfics could have - certainly none I would have been lucky enough to read first go. It was also possibly the first slash story I've ever read (and I have read quite a few) that made me as eager for romance and one frigging bloody "I love you" between Harry and Draco as I am for the same thing between a m/f couple in some sort of sexual-tension-filled action/adventure or romantic comedy. Anyways. An excellent read, well worth it, and I provided the Schnoogle link instead of the Restricted Section link, because Schoogle has one more chapter up than RS does (or at least it did when I first copied it to my HD - like I do with all fanfics).

Saving Draco Malfoy by Dayspring
Draco doesn't want to be Voldemort's sextoy. So he finds a way out - bind himself to someone else. Who, though? Why, Harry Potter, of course. How? Why, by getting himself knocked up by Harry, of course. How is this possible? Why, by making Harry think he raped Draco, ergo, feel guity, of course. A long, winding fic where the two boys slowly fall in love, get past the fake-rape, and eventually kick Voldie's scaly ass. Oh, and Draco discovers he's nearly pureblooded royal Elf, too (and not House Elf Elf - try more the Lord of the Rings Elf). Awesome fanfic, but it's mpreg, if that causes you much squickness. If not - I highly recommend reading it.

DAMN. I wish someone had told me how funny this story was before I started reading it in class! This story is hysterical! Normally I do a pretty good job of smothering my laughter or at least hiding my smiles when I'm reading a funny fanfic, but this one was sooo funny I did an absolute shit job. I also didn't get much work done. Gah. It's told from various points of view; during sixth year, Harry comes back absolutely gorgeous. Hermione is the first person we hear this from, and we get the perspective of everyone's - including the teacher's as well as the student's - reactions to stud!Harry - from Draco, Harry himself, Ron, Snape (hehe), and even Dumbledore (it's brief but...well...hahaha). God this story is funny. Read when people won't be looking at you like you're mad wondering what the hell you're laughing at.

Searching in the Dark by SilentAuror
Yet another by my favorite H/D author, SilentAuror. It reminds me of "Finding Love", in a way. In it, both Draco and Harry are lusting after Snape. When tension escalates, and they fight, both are given a series of library detentions. During these detentions they become friends, and sometime along the way Draco not only has the hots for Snape, but Harry as well - and, well, it gets all confusing and angsty, but eventually works out in the end, with Draco and Harry getting together and Snape and Lucius getting together, and such (and Snape being the one to push Harry and Draco together). There's also a grand showdown in Hogsmeade with Voldie, for those who like plot beyond just romance :D (and it's a pretty damn good showdown, I must say). Another great fic from SilentAuror ^^.

Somnio Salvus by Invisibabe
Very awesome fic where Draco slips Harry a potion and starts visiting him in his dreams. In his dreams, however, instead of finding your typical run-of-the-mill nightmares, Draco finds Harry is being killed over and over (in many a horrible ways) by Voldemort and his Death Eaters - throwing all of Draco's ideas and visions of the Dark Side in a new light. As is normal in an H/D fic, the relationship progresses - only inside the dream, not out. As also is usual, this causes much angsting. Very, very good. Go read.

Starts With a Spin by Maxine
Ahhh..very good. Not much plot other than that surrounding Harry and Draco's romance, but hey, I like that. Several games into Truth or Dare and Spin the Bottle, Harry and Draco are already being effected by the numerous, progessively raunchier times they're being forced to kiss. In the end, after all the dares and practicing and denial, they not only admit that they're gay, but basically own up to liking each other, as well. Surprisingly, there's a declaration of love at the very end (I wasn't expecting one). Of course, a War rages on outside the walls of Hogwarts, but the dynamics of the story are solely on Harry, Draco, and neverending Saturday games. Very good fic.

Tempus Fugit by Poison Pen
FUTUREFIC! Yeeeees! Futurefic futurefic futurefic! Mwahaha. *Calms self* There's a screw-up in Potions and Draco and Harry are sent eight years into their future. Much to their horror, they discover that, in the future, they're together. The next several months involve a lot of acting, a lot of tension, and a lot of old grudges needing to be quickly forgiven and forgotten if Harry and Draco are to maintain their cover until they can find their way back home. AWESOME read.

Time Out of Place by Cosmic
One of those great Harry-and-Draco-get-sent-into-the-future-and-in-the- future-they're-lovers fics. Rather angsty, particularly towards the end, and as to what happens to future Harry and Draco is ambiguous. Still, this fic is excellent, and the plot is original for all that the idea is typical (but it's fun typical). Awesome relationship between Harry and Draco - one of those stories that has a fond of bonding (a "Heart Bond", in this). I'm a big fan of the bonding (and, well, the bondage as well...hehehe. None of that in this, alas XD). Very good story. More paralyzed Draco (poor guy; Cosmic can't give him a break). Love it; read it. Read it; love it.

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by November Snowflake
Normally I prefer my H/D pretty substantial - I want an "I love you" shoved SOMEWHERE in the mix. In this, I don't even get a kiss, much less a shag. However, it's another post-war (me likey), and another where Draco does something to protect Harry, though we really don't find out until the story is winding down, and even then, Harry and Draco aren't exactly buddies, despite...well. But it's a good read, where Draco's lost his memory, Ron's in a coma, and Harry is...well...Harry. Also features some Ginny/Tonks shagging, and appearences by Lupin and Moody. For someone like me, it's not the best place to go in search of profound and moving H/D, buuut, it really is too good a read to pass up.

Transfigurations by Resonant
Yes, I know, this is recc'd everywhere. Everyone knows it. So if you're reading this and don't know it, you HAVE to go and click the link, because an H/D fan who has not read "Transfigurations" is not an H/D fan. This is another post-war (I love those! Squee!), and this time, Harry is teaching Transfigurations after a 5-year bout in Florida, and Draco's teaching...Muggle Studies. Yerp. Muggle Studies. Also features war memorials, a Snape Statue, Dumbledore's Ghost, and a magical land mine field masquerading as Hogwarts. Good, angsty H/D; and, as you'll find with all the fics I rec here, it ends well and/or happily enough.

Underwater Light by Maya
Oh. Mah. Ferk. This story is looong, and aaangsty, and sooo well-written and plotted. This is an excellent story for those who prefer frienship first, and shagging second. In all seriousness, this is a truly awesome work of fanfiction, and a masterful weave of a growing friendship and budding romance. A long read, that leaves you (so many times) wanting to smack both boys upside the head, but well worth the time and nail-biting it takes to get to the almost lazy, semi-sweet end. I particularly like Draco in this - I don't know why, except for when he's not being an ass he's actually quite sweet. I very much recommend this fic. It's more than worth the time it takes to read this 600+ page giant of a story. Oh, quick summary - in Harry's last year of Hogwarts, when the wizarding world is being torn up by war, there's another Triwizard Tournament, where Harry comes to realize Draco Malfoy might mean more to him than he previously thought, and as a result, seeks Draco out. They start...well, bonding, for lack of a better term :). Male bonding, Draco and Harry style. Run for your lives, people, run for your lives XD. Well, run for your lives, as long as you run in the direction of the "Underwater Light" link! Now, I've blathered enough - you should already be reading by now!

Unthinkable Thoughts by Aidan Lynch
After an...accident...in Care for Magical Creatures, several people are alerted to a powerful romance lurking beneath the surface of a certain two students at Hogwarts. One of said students has an adverse reaction to the accident, to the point of near-suicide; the other, picking up on the feelings of the other (I'm trying to stay mysterious here; give you something to look forward to), spends weeks in misery. In the end, they must both be holed up in the Hospital Wing until they can learn to live with a profound, semi-rare sort of wizard's love called the Crimson Cloud.

The Veela Enigma by jennavere
Jennavere is absolutely hysterical. In "Veela Enigma", we have Veela!Draco (who doesn't know he's a half-Veela), Veela!Lucius (who gets turned into a Veela), ummm...Veela!Mating Season (yeah!!!) and a dozen other interesting and humorous twists and scenes that make for one very cool fic :). Actually, this one is rather angstier than her other fic, "Dragon Tamer" - this one has several attempted rapes (what do you expect, with a Veela and it's mate?), Voldemort wanting to keep the Malfoy Veelas as a pet...not to mention a pyschotically possessive and jealous Draco. Very, very good fic. H/D, of course. Want to go read? Click the link. I insist!

The Waters of March by Duinn-Fionn
Okay, you caught me; I love her work. Well, she wrote ATBT, how could I not? Anyway. Another post-war! Squee with me! *Squees* Here, Draco is the victim of one of the final showdowns with Voldemort, a showdown Snape came out the worse of, for sure, and has survivor's guilt driving Harry to visiting him at St. Mungo's every day. But after a time, survivor's guilt changes into...something else. Much hair brushing abound. I really like this fic. Go read *hypnotises you into reading*.

Welcome to the Real World by IamtheLizardQueen
I am...hesitant, in a way, to rec this. It's a good H/D, but it's not quite like the others. The first few chapters are the hardest to weather through; then the writer seems to start getting better betas or whatever, and the writing improves considerably - at least gramarically. I dunno...it's not, like, "Resolution"-like, but it's too good to NOT rec. Never, I think, has so much time gone by in an H/D where Harry and Draco just snog, and not have sex. Ooh! It has an older Dudley! It has an older Dudley punching Draco, and an older Dudley running in fear from a few wizards and two Muggles who suddenly look like demonic-harpy-things. Oh, yes, there's also another m/m pair; two interesting Muggles who end up learning some fascinating information about their friends Harry, Draco, Hermione and Ron. Also has a bookshop and a romance-addicted boss. Like I said, not exactly ATBT, but you can't not read this - it's too good to pass up!

What's Done is Done by ElfFlame
This fic has a hasty mating between Harry and Draco in the beginning, mpreg, and a secret that's been hidden from Draco all his life. Angsty at times - as Lucius killed Draco's other father (yes, I said other father), and then, after having killed him, realized he loved him after all. Narcissa is wonderful, as per usual (I very rarely come across a mean or cruel Narcissa). Mpreg and Veelas and hidden pasts, oh my! Unusually, Draco's Veela-ness doesn't have as much to do with the story as usual (it's more a bit of building up of Harry and Draco's hastily made relationship, and the revelation of Lucius' secret, working through that, and trying to get out of Lucius' promise to the Parkinsons that Draco would marry Pansy).

What Separates Us by Amy
*Fidgets* I really like this fic, but I have a bone or two to pic with it. For one thing, I'm into a shared top/bottom relationship, and even though I have a small penchant for prefersbottoming!Draco, I still like that sort of thing to be equal. Also, this fic doesn't have quite the level of emotion needed - it's got it, it just seems superficial. However, those two things aside, this is a very good fic, with a solid plot, a lovely relationship between Harry and Draco, particularly before they become lovers (and are just friends). Good fic, and maybe you'll disagree with my criticisms. I still think you should read it, 'cause the fic is cool.

Worlds Collide by franthephoenix
What's more compelling than Malfoy the Muggle? An AU, wacky weather, and, hahah, the Great Gringotts Robbery (seriously). Also features some Draco, Hermione and Ron -bonding (without Harry, who decides to be an ass...but we love him anyway, right? Right?). I won't say this is the world's greatest prose ever, but it is a very good story all the same. Go. READ.

Cat's Cradle, Mistaken and The Boat of a Million Years by Starkiller
Draco knows Dragon Magic; he and Harry get together; there's a siege on Hogwarts; Draco leaves for ten years; Harry's ex-fiencee and Narcissa are out to get them; there's a little wooden boat that everyone wants and only a few know where it is...this is an angsty trilogy, with an ending you might not expect. Good for an angstfest, and a semi-happy ending. Note the use of the word semi. Origins, Haven and Belong by IvyBlossom
Shame Veela-Inc went down; it's so hard to find IvyBlossom's fics now. Anyway. I KNOW, these fic are recc'd everywhere - with good reason. Also, every recc'r finds some new reason to rec it. Mine? Mostly "Origins", and, specifically, The Most Fucking Fantastic First Kiss to ever go down in H/D history. This kiss is perfect, and it goes on for pages. Weird thing about it though: Harry doesn't know who he's kissing. Draco does, naturally, but Harry is, very literally, in the dark. "Haven" isn't as good, but it was written first, and the author's first fic, so who can blame her? "Belong" is quite angsty, and almost as good as "Origins", except it lacks The Most Fucking Fantastic First Kiss. I love these stories, but be warned - they're veeerry angsty.

The Silver Chain, Power Play and The Ebony Box by Dahlia
I'm grouping these much like the Origins/Haven/Belong trilogy because these three fics go together, and they all take place within a relatively short period of time - a little while before Christmas, up until the Easter holidays during Harry and Draco's 7th year. It's got sex, sex, and more sex; it's got our favorite nickname for Voldemort (hehehe); it's got quite a bit of angst; it's got it all. It also has several original ideas; such as (*snerk*) "Voldie"'s lover, Hunter; Harry's Avada powers and Draco's Imperius powers, and a Draco that does an excellent job of playing all sides. An excellent read (the sort of read that is rereadable), worthy of the time, patience, and nails you will have bitten off. (Note: the links provided are all from the NC-17 index of PSA, so you'll need to have the username and password to read them. Sorry.)

Saving Connor, No Mouth But Some Serpent's, Come Out of Drarkness Morn, Freedom And Not Peace, Wind That Shakes the Sea and Stars, A Song In Time of Revolution and I Am Also Thy Brother by lightningonthewave
Well... where to begin. Um. Well, firstly, I waited so long to rec this particular series that I stopped actually doing recs. Not because of laziness or anything, but because this series is so long that even with wonderfully lengthy and daily updates from the beloved lightningwave, it STILL took more than a year to complete this monster of an AU. Yes, an AU. A humongously massive AU of the entire 7-book series, and I would swear on a stack of Bibles this series is far longer (and more intricately plotted, with better characterizations and definitely more sex) than Rowling's series. It does have parellels with the books, particularly at the beginning, but as the series continues, obviously, it breaks off more and more into AU (though it's pretty AU from the beginning, if that's not your thing). Well... it's impossibly, improbably difficult to say, in a few words, what all this series is, so I'll just sum up the basic idea for the beginning of the first story (borrowing, somewhat, from the author's summary): Harry's in Slytherin, his (twin!) brother Connor is the Boy Who Lived, and while Harry may be determined to help his brother succeed, there are certain people who are equally determined to not let Harry remain in the shadows...
Rating: NC-17 (Eventually. It takes a while.) - Ships: Er... to be honest, I don't really remember. There are just so many characters... well, in any case, H/D (and they never ship with anybody else).
